Education:

PhD — MSU 1997 (Agricultural and Extension Education & Higher Education Aministration)

MS — MSU 1994 (Agricultural and Extension Education)

BS — MSU 1989 (Agricultural and Extension Education & Horticulture)

Dr. Duncan started his teaching career as a high school agriscience teacher in Indiana where he taught agriscience and horticulture for four years. While in Indiana Duncan completed graduate work at Purdue University and then transferred to Michigan State University (MSU) to finish his Master's and pursue a doctorate degree in Agricultural and Extension Education with an emphasis in higher education administration. While at MSU he taught horticulture courses for four years at Lansing Community College and worked for MSU Extension for two years. Upon completion of his PhD in 1997, he and his family moved to Blacksburg, Virginia where he taught agriculture and horticulture courses for six years at Virginia Tech. Dr. Duncan became a member of Team Ag Ed in Georgia July, 2004.

 

Research Interests:
Dr. Duncan's research focus is in planning and evaluation of educational programs both nationally and internationally. Previous research has been published in the NACTA Journal, the Journal of Agricultural Education, the Journal of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Education, the Journal of Career and Technical Education and the Journal of International Agricultural and Extension Education.

 

Current Activities:
Dr. Duncan is currently involved in the teaching and advising of undergraduate and graduate students in agricultural leadership, education and communication, and serves as the graduate coordinator. He teaches the following courses:
